Second day is delivered in person.Prerequisite: Industy professinals seeking this cerfification are required to have completed a basic, 8-hour construction stormwater training program within the past 3-years.
The Colorado Construction General permit contains provisions requiring a Qualified Stormwater Manager perform specific tasks such as signing compliance documents, implementing the Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP), and conducting routine inspections. A Qualified Stormwater Manager is an individual:
- Knowledgeable in the principles and practices of erosion and sediment control and pollution prevention.
- Has the skills to assess conditions at construction sites that could impact storwater quality.
- Can assess the effectiveness of stormwater controls implemented to meet the requirements or the permit.
This two-day training program has been developed to meet the knowledge and skills required to be a Qualified Stormwater Manager (QSM). This is a certification class in which candidates become certified. The certification is valid for 3 years. A recongnized refresher program is required every 3 years to keep the certification. This class is offered in a variety of formats including in person, online and one day in person.
