Stormwater Courses are offered in partnership with Altitude Training Associates. Visit website to register: https://www.altitudeta.com/Index.htm. First full day is delivered via ZOOM. Second day is delivered in person.Prerequisite: Industy professinals seeking this cerfification are required to have completed a basic, 8-hour construction stormwater training program within the past 3-years.

The Colorado Construction General permit contains provisions requiring a Qualified Stormwater Manager perform specific tasks such as signing compliance documents, implementing the Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP), and conducting routine inspections. A Qualified Stormwater Manager is an individual:

  • Knowledgeable in the principles and practices of erosion and sediment control and pollution prevention.
  • Has the skills to assess conditions at construction sites that could impact storwater quality.
  • Can assess the effectiveness of stormwater controls implemented to meet the requirements or the permit.

This two-day training program has been developed to meet the knowledge and skills required to be a Qualified Stormwater Manager (QSM). This is a certification class in which candidates become certified. The certification is valid for 3 years. A recongnized refresher program is required every 3 years to keep the certification. This class is offered in a variety of formats including in person, online and one day in person.

RMEC 3115 Fall Prevention

This course covers the identification, evaluation, prevention and control of fall hazards in the construction industy. The course focuses on falls to a lower level rather than falls to the same level resulting from slips and falls. Course topics include identifying, analysing, and preventing fall hazards. At the conclusion of the course, students will have a awareness level of identifying fall hazards and methods to control and abate the hazards. PLEASE NOTE: the second class will be held on Wednesday, July 31.

The Hybrid WRC format offers 8 hours of self-paced, online instruction followed by two consecutive days in the classroom. The online component is hosted on CANVAS®, a cloud-based classroom and powerful learning management system that allows individual students to work at a personalized pace. The online material consists of reading assignments, case studies, videos, photos, animations, quizzes, and a midterm exam and is available approximately 1 month before the in-person classroom section.  

The hybrid format works best for self-motivated individuals with good time management skills that have access to a smart phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop, and high-speed internet. This instructional format provides opportunities for course participants to learn at their own speed, during their most convenient times, in their own space.

During the classroom section, course participants integrate their knowledge via drills, skill stations, scenarios, simulations, and discussions with the same instructor team that support them during the online component.

Registration for the Hybrid WRC includes both the online and classroom sections.

Students will get access to the online learning modules at least one week prior to in-person field days. All modules must be completed by June 1 (first in-person day) in order to participate in the field portion.

This summer, we will offer all levels of ESL for those students that prefer in-person instruction. These classes are held on the Red Rocks Community College campus. These are noncredit classes but meet the requirements of a 3-credit college class that many J1 visa holders require. No textbooks are required; however, your homework and practice will be on the Burlington English online learning platform. You will need an internet connection and a computer, tablet, or smartphone (not ideal). We will send you an email after you register with additional information you will need. If you are unsure of your ESL level, please reach out to the RCC ESL staff at ESL@rrcc.edu for help.
